after meeting a gentleman who built a 1/1 replica of speed racer's mach 5 , i asked him to give me an estimate for a steel bodied 356 replica ....i think that the weakest link are the top frame , the windshield frame and glass windshield.

my idea is to make something close to a drauz , with taller windshield, window winders and nicer top than the speedster , although if i cannot get parts for it , i will end up with a model i can get the parts for ....

any sources for the parts i need ?? repro bumpers , guards , windshields, top frames , etc

thank you !!

I know the header for the Porshe 356 forum says use the kit car forum for replicas but if you're just looking for sources for original parts, I'd ask advice in the Porsche 356 forum.

After you get it made, please post something here

The Reisner's do sell parts. They don't really have a parts catalog but they sell parts. They are small and might take a while to get back to you.

They actually sold me a front clip. I think I dealt with Henry's wife on the phone. She was sweet.

I own an Intermeccanica. bought and built in 1979 I think. I think I'm the 3rd owner. it was my only car in Seattle for 6 years. most all of the shiny bits are actual Porsche parts. they told me to order replacement parts from Stoddard I think.

sounds like you want a Convertable D

I've asked them also about a top frame, what they make now is nicer than back in 79.
they said they would sell me one if I order it when they make a run of parts...but I didn't ask them when they were making another production run so I just didn't get around to it.
