I have just finished a 2.0 lt on 1800 heads and want to decide which intake manifolds for stock duals would perform the best and maybe some hints on jetting.

Also which tins cool the best on this set up?

For best cooling make sure to use ALL of the tins and carefully fit them together including the very bottom pieces that cover the pushrod tubes.

The shorter manifolds should provide more torque than talls. But the shortys also get hotter at the carb than a tall manifold.

Would putting the FI insulator blocks in there help with the heat- Torque is good!

Tall. Easier to dial in, fuel has a better chance of vaporization. I ran shorts for ict's, swapped out for talls an had way better throttle response and they were easier to tune. Did I mention better throttle response?

Ditched it all and run dell 36's

tall will give a better low end as well as fuel mixing. In some climates it would be more prone to icing. I would think that on a bus tall would be better but were it me I call John at aircooled and asked him what his experience is with them. We have no idea what the resonate length is of your engine and what RPM you are trying to get max power out.

Optimum Intake runner area 1.37 square inches (calculated)
Optimum Intake Length 16.80 inches long (from valve head to plenum).

Short if you want higher rev's but tall for better low end which IMHO is the best for a bus.

I've always used talls. When I got my second set of 34ICT's a couple of years ago they came with shorts. I used the talls because the shorts had no balance tubes to use for the power booster. They seem to work fine.

it is like a flute - the longer the tube the lower the oscillation frequency it supports. The optimal distance from the top of the air horn to the back of the intake valve would be 16.8 inches at a peak HP at 5000 RPM on a 1600 engine.

What air cleaner set up are you planning on using? If you are going for a stock look I would recommend the tall manifolds so that you can use the paper air filter instead of the dual carb oil bath which I have a strong love hate relationship with.
