I have a couple of Fuchs 15x6's that I've stripped with paint remover (were previously painted) and the original black inset is missing. I looked for a thread on wheel refinishing (didn't find anything); is there a thread here or link to somewhere else that describes what people are doing for the black inset? I read on another thread that the original black is anodized, but (with some effort) it starts to wash off with lacquer thinner. That suggests to me (as a painter and lots of experience with paint remover) that it's paint, but what type exactly? Any advice here is appreciated. Al |

I have finished all my Fuchs like this and they turn out great. It's a bit of work but I'm cheap and would rather do things myself. I'm sure in the wheel forum there is a different way to do this. |

Thanks for the info Brian; fascinating the way you did it. I have found more info in the wheel forum (didn't think of looking there originally). Al |
