Hi,

In Hopes that someone local to me has decided the price for a mechanic to change their timing belt is too much, I am checking the VW forums for anyone that could lend me some tools for a weekend. I have an MK4 TDI with 215k that is due for a new belt. I am more than capable of changing the belt but lack the necessary tools and the infamous VCDS. If anyone out there in the Vermont VW world has a connection to these tools I would love to hear from you!

Thank you!

remove #5 cam cap.. stack of feeler gauges... drill bit for ip pump.... 2 allen wrenches with screw driver between them for tensoner.... 16mm sparkplug socket works great on motor mount bolts as has area to fit a wrench on for room..

if you put the pump dead nuts not a tooth off.. the ip setting should not change.. loosen the 3 bolts.. you will be screwed and require the program to reset it.. will it be perfect.. imo if set right last time yes.. if not no..
