Every time I come in and check this thing out all I can think of is lifting it and putting a set of big mud tires on it.

And the turbo would help!

Cool project, will keep checking out the progress.
Funny... I'd rather see it slammed on the ground...

Wow, that is completely MENTAL!!
I've seen the odd pic for these but never a build thread.
How hard is it to climb into?

That would make a very cool looking pick-up. Like a mini Deora! Not sure how you'd work the door situation, but would be neat to see some photoshop pics of a pick-up version. Lowered with the wide slotted wheels. With some customization it could be wild.

I saw one of these years ago at Carlisle - totally done in the 70's "look" - shag carpeting an all. In fact I think it was un-restored from the 70's!

Reminds me of when I was involved with constructing the rolling chassis for this puppy. We built two versions. one for chase seines the other for jumping.

I'm building a Coyote replica myself. Mind if I bombard you with questions?

Greyboy, is it going to get some paint before it's finished or are you going to leave it with the patina?

Greyboy Tue Aug 27, 2013 8:04 am

I'm gonna just buff it out and live with it for a while.

Andy P Tue Aug 27, 2013 8:15 am

Cool, although the originals did look awesome with the bronze metallic paint on the side.
But I'd be impatient to drive the heck out of it, too.

I saw one of these in the 90's at a car show in New Jersey, I wonder if it's the same one. I'll try and dig a picture up.

Awesome resto on the box!
