So i inherited van with c51isac fridge
I connected the + on the rear panel to a battery, connected a ground to the - on rear panel and the interior light comes on but the compressor wont fire up
I moved the rotary switch by the freezer door to the A position..nothing
I cant seem to find a manual here
http://www.vfamerica.com/eng/catalog.asp?id=1952&n=oceanĀ
Any hints from ppl with this fridge
Down load link to the older fridge w/o the led display
Are there more wires i need to connect ?
What does the rotary dial mean with the A' position |

So I called Vitrifrigo America LLC 954-979-7737 talked to the manager
and he stepped me through the debug process
Fan Test
1) disconnect the fan the compressor should now run - faulty fan
-disconnect fan red power from piggy back jumper on the main terminal +
-disconnect fan black negative from terminal F
- supply power direct to fan 12v +, & ground to fan black, fan should turn
Thermostat test
2) disconnect the thermostat the compressor should now run - faulty thermostat
-disconnect thermostat wire from terminal C
-disconnect thermostat thumbnail circuit piggy back board from terminal T
-jumper Terminal T and terminal C
Compressor test
3) if test 1 and 2 fail to start compressor - possible faulty compressor
Comprehensive tests
4)A 10mA light emitting diode (LED) jumper can be connected between
the terminals + and D. err flash every ,25s then stop for 4s then repeats
Flashes
5-electronic control unit faulty
4-minium motor speed error
3-motor failed to start
2-fan over current cut out
1-Batter protection cut out
Rear Panel wire connections located on the upper right rear corner as viewed from the front
- system ground
+ system power & fan piggy back jumper Red Wire
F Fan ground Black wire
A Light power
C Light Ground
D Empty
C Thermostat wire
P Empty
T Thermostat thumbnail circuit piggy back board
* turns out the Thermostat thumbnail circuit piggy back board was not connected |

I would make very sure that you have 12+ volts at the fridge while trying to start the compressor. The logic board of the fridge has a low voltage detection shutdown for the compressor. The inside light will work even if the logic has disabled the compressor due to low voltage. Try connecting a battery charger to the battery while trying to start the fridge.
