I’ve had leaking problems with a couple EMPI electric fuel pumps. They were leaking from the case.
So I want to try a different brand name pump - which ones are the best?
I have a 1966 Beetle with stock carb that has run ok with the EMPIs but time to move on, I think. |

Mount it to the passenger side of the pan, on the flat section ahead of the firewall, and use some insulators like this

I use Derale in two cars. part# 72001 2-3.5# model
Make sure to read instruction with whatever you buy. Some are not to be mounted horizontally, to prevent vapor lock.
I did put mine on the firewall. Yes, you can hear it, but you also know it's working. It's not horribly loud by all means, especially if you have carpet. |
