Hello, my 912 recently started acting weird. In the morning the car will startup and drive awesome, then about two small 3 mile drives later it idles fine but wants to die during launch and lacks power throughout the gears not able to go faster than 40. After it sits again it will run fine but only for a minute or two and then back to same problem. The car sits over night then once again drives great for a bout 6 miles of stop and go, then the problem returns? :?:

Drove with gas cap off same issues,
Cleaned cap and rotor same issues,

What kind of fuel pump do you have? What about the fuel filter? Is it correctly oriented? Is this the same car from another post somewhere that has a basically new bottom end and fuel tank? I've had cracked dizzy cap cause running issues also. Bad spark plug wires that once warm also can cause problems. I think the general agreement is a fuel issue. After running it till the problem occurs hook up to an external fuel tank and see if it will run fine bypassing the stock fuel system.
Where are you located? Probably others in your area that are knowledgeable and willing to help you figure this out.

Yea same car, I'm looking into points and coil today. the problem seems to happen as the car gets warm, next I will start looking at the plugs(thx) and the fuel pump/filters. Then if needed a distributor in case its an advance issue It's just really weird how good it drives when it's cool.

I'm in Coeur d Alene at the moment but split time between here and seattle.

There is some people here but I was trying hard to DIY it this weekend.
