I figure the Off-road guys would be a better crowd to post this Question.

Ive got a buggy thay was apperantly Submerged for a long time. I drained the oil from the transaxle and got more water than oil. Is there anything I can or should do to this transaxle? Im not sure how long the water has been in the case, but its probably been a few years.

Thanks for any help!

Best solution would be to open it up (or have shop) and see what insides is like, other alternative is to flush it with something like diesel fuel and let soak a while then drain real well... Fill with fresh 90wt and go around block a few times and drain it and refill....

BUT rust never sleeps.... So personally I would not do anything but look inside first...

Flush it and run it. If anything happens replace it, idk about in NY but here in SJ transaxles are a dime a dozen. Probably cost more to have a shop open it up and look then it would to replace it all together if it failed.
