i just noticed this reasonably awesome BD in the classifieds.
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1542401
i like it a lot, i am just wondering if it, at $160.000, would be considered a deal or not. Won't hurt my feelings either way, as i am not made of money, unfortunately. |

Does it have a later nose?? The windshield wiper indent isn't correct? |

Yep, front clipped, later non piano hinge window frame on passenger side as well.
I think 160K is way north of what it's worth.
More like the most expensive 52 Deluxe for sale at the time
It definitely has potential to be a 160K Deluxe |

Where did 160 come from? Is that what someone has offered? Yikes. And I think on that one I could overlook the wiper indent. |

that could be a bad thing if all the rare early busses go into climate controlled lock ups...but maybe to the guy who can afford it, it is no difficult than the usual standard ride to the average Joe, so hopefully they will be getting driven on and on and on !
the 52 looks great nd has plenty of chracter. maybe needs some TLC. or quite some  terrific ride anyways. |

I’m with you Sir Alan Scott lll. I don’t recall when was the last time I saw a MONSTER up for grabs!? A majority of these monsters go for sale under the radar. Regardless of what people say, this is a big dollar monster! This bus will eventually sell, and for big money. We all know prices have sky rocketed in the past 5 to 10 years, Barndoors went to another level ………. Barndoor Deluxes! YIKES!!! Needless to say there are lots of folks out there with really deep pockets who have really good coaches on their sides. It will be a major bummer, and this happens very often, if bought and stashed in a Private Collections. I know the bus, yeah it has its issues – don’t they all, but it’s a 1952 Deluxe!! One thing for sure, this bus in not replaceable and you won’t be seeing a 1952 Deluxe for sale anytime soon.
Dai - I won't ask  Cheers mate
BTW - this entire paragraph was written in a Northern British accent. REALLY! |

Nobody in the North of England would write the phrase above - did you mean Scottish ;-) |

I agree with Johnny.. This is a Monster bus! 51-52 deluxe buses are the holy grail for a lot of peeps... Rare is an understatement... Demand is not even a question...
The ability to afford this limits the buyers... I also agree with Beany... Driving a 100 k bus is not as fun as you think it is.. Your nerves are pushed to the prink ever time you take it out because of the lack of care and accountability around you..
Do you think a 16-17 year old kid give a shit about your slow ass bus as he's riding your bumper jumping in and out of traffic texting his buddy? :? |
