I saw that trailer under construction (or repair) at Valley Westys in Staunton a few years ago.

Thank you all for the kind words. The westrailia is currently in VA being painted the same blue as the 85. The 85 ended up with a 2006 2.5l Subaru VVT engine, which pulls quite nicely. Yes the guys at Valley Westies are good friends, Keith and his wife Tracey were actually in our wedding and Paul & Daria and Bob all drove up in convoy from VA to MA for the wedding. It was repair, we were making the front stronger as there were no cross tie-ins in the first pass and the join for the grill and windscreen had a little flex and cracked slightly allowing rust to form.

Thats actually one of the things that it was at Valley Westies / C.A.R.S (Complete Auto 8 Silver Creek Drive Staunton VA) I found some MGB or classic Mini 7" headight buckets. These are fully sealed with the wires coming out of a small hole in the top. The Vanagon when the front was cut there ended up a hole that rain water easily navigated through. So we were solving that problem also re wiring it so that we had some LED lights up front.
