I'm building a trike, out of a conglomeration of parts I bought, on a
swing axle trans.
I installed new brake shoes, wheel cylinders and hardware kit.
There will be no emergency brakes so the arm for the e-brake cable was
not installed. The spreader bar is so loose it falls down between the shoes.
I know this can't be good. The drums also appear to be wider than the
brake shoes. Different year maybe?
My question is will the brakes work without the spreader bar under the top spring. |

Yes the spreader is for Parking Brake apply only..
Remove the parking brake parts.... and they are the same as the fronts... well ..maybe not in your case...
But I think you'll get the idea. |

Thanks a million. It looked like it would work OK, but I wanted to be sure.
When I need my brakes, I NEED my brakes.
Thanks again. |
