I am in the process of building a trike and need some of the expert knowledge from you guys. I bought a trans axle site site unseen and I find out it has a strange drums on it. Not knowing all there is to know about the subject I am trying now to identify the drums and brake assembly so I can match up wheels and tires for it. It measures 4X116mm with a large hub opening and button bolts holding the drum to the spindle.
Any ideas out there? :?

| that's just a 4 lug vw drum 2 peice. I had the same one on my 67 squareback...Not sure what years they are correct for other than 66 & later type 3's and ghia's and 68 & later type 1 beetle |

| I think those are Type 3 only. Beetles and Ghias don't have separate hubs. |

When you order parts to do the brakes you order them for "1964+ Type 3".
What you are looking at is a set of type 3 "composite brakes", olny the type 3's had a hub separate from the drum. |
