I was talking with my neighbor and he was talking about about an exhaust leak.. Anyway we discovered an exhaust bolt missing..
What size by what size is it????
Can he go to home depot and buy a bolt that would work??? Like a stainless steel bolt?? |

You are going to have to be a little more specific as to where the leak is, and what year the van is. In the exhaust sysytem there are a couple different sizes and types of fasteners that are used. |

Its like a 84 or 95 Vanagon....
If you were facing the rear the car.. The Right side on the far side of the engine... Top bolt.... |

If I am understanding you right, it is one of the fasteners that attach the exhaust pipe to the head? If that is the case, it is most likely an M8x30 bolt. They also use studs in those locations, so I would verify that you don't have a stud broken before you go bolt shopping. :D
If that isn't the location that you are talking about, most of the hardware on the exhaust systems are 8mm, you just have to come up with the proper length. |
