I'm new to the ACVW world, and need some veteran help.
I tried searching this in the Forum and couldn't find the answer to this basic question.
On the early beetles, where was the dividing line on the two-tone paint? Was it the trim piece, or the body crease?
I'm attempting to give my fat chick that vintage look, and always liked the two-tone paint. |

below the trim and between the fenders.
paint would cover front quarter, door and rear quarter. |

2 tones were never factory, they were "custom" paint jobs. The only ones that came from factory are Hebmuellers and some (argueably) very very early examples.
In other words, use which ever line you prefer, there's no right or wrong way since it's custom. |

mulk is right, althout it all depends on if you have trim or not. if your car is stripped, a clean line at the crease looks nicer |

Thanks for the advise.......it's hard to step up to the plate and ask questions when you own a fatchick. |

I've had four cars that were two tone and I always mask the line right at center of the molding so when the molding stops the line is coming from the point of the molding |
