I am weeding through the Subaru harness discussions but thought I would just ask... there are some price and turnaround differences between the various harness builders... is one any more preferred over another for any particular reasons?

I can’t speak to anyone but AutoVentures.

Their harness has been great for me! Pretty quick turn around, but it was about $900.

Pretty easy install and responsive when I had questions. They also paid to ship a 2nd part of it when we had a miscommunication.

I’ve heard good things about the box they include in the OBD2 harnesses for mitigating codes, but I’ve got an OBD1 so no direct experience.

Jeff Robenolt at Auto Ventures Subaru is great! He just finished working on our Westy. I’m super happy with his work.

Jeff Robenolt at Auto Ventures Subaru conversion.

Fantastic support and high-quality work. He even posted a video of 'testing' the harness before he mailed it back.

Autoventures was an awesome and very worthwhile expense in my mind. I had wanted to do my own harness but in the end, had limitied time to do my conversion and wanted to eliminate the harness as a possible source of a no start when firing it up for the first time. Jeff was great at responding to a few questions through texts. If I were to do another conversion, I might try to do my own harness.

Had mine done by auto adventure, and im very happy with work. It took a few months to complete but they were very busy at the time and have always been very responsive.
I also had one made by small car several years ago, and has worked well.
Autoventures harness is a bit more refined with the code killer/ and tach mod.
However, seems like small car is making some improvements and will be coming out with a new harness built in house w factory plugs (no need to send in a harness to convert).

I'll put in another plug for autoventures. I did my own harness, but Jeff was nice enough to freely answer several of my questions in a message board during the process which made it go easier for me.
