for a driver that is actually a great choice btw

the least of your worries for the time being, as long as it runs okay

Here are a few pictures that I have of this bus. Like a lot of these buses, its pretty banged up forward of the bulk head. I love the optional rear hatch.

That bus needs the typical south American bus rebuild....whoever buys it has some heavy lifting to do to restore it.....or, get it for a good price, leave it alone, sort it out, and drive the fuck out of it :D :D :D

As soon as I heard Peru, memories of a 52 I had from Columbia came back. This bus needs total rehab. It can be done.Deep pockets and time. That 52 I had...it got done! The guy who bought it from me wished he had not. How bad do you want a barndoor? More are out there un-discovered,even in the USA.

Since no one posted a price. I personally would pay $15K for it running/driving (without the $$$ seats). The problem is that bus is in Europe. It looks to be surrounded by other cars so it's probably a dealer/flipper and it's probably in the 30K Euro range.

And I would just drive it. Trying to fix a Columbian/SA is a long, hard, and expensive trip.

Love the rear hatch too !
Hagi, I think you were too enthusiastic on this one. Probably you had not learned enough information about barndoors BEFORE the purchase. the front structure show my worst thoughts when I said it 'looks too round'.
Anyways, DON'T make the mistake to tear this all apart. Even if you have the money to spend on a hudge project. Just get the mechanicals working properly and drive it, drive it, drive it ! ( I know that you Swiss people can get carried away while doing an excellent proper resto, so do yourself a favor and don't !) JMHO

Give me a rusty east coast barndoor any day over one of those south american piles.

i think this is right on the money, this is a driving barndoor, drive it.

fix things that can easily fixed, like doors, bumpers, anything mechanical, collect everything that is not correct, and keep driving it.

In a couple of years fix the front, doglegs, semaphores, etc

in the meantime, keep driving it, that is more than many barndoors get to do

at the end of the day, whether it's a South American pile of shit, or a broken in half, rusty Swedish/American/Canadian pile...the heavy lifting is all the same....if you do not believe me, take a look at the pile we are redoing from New Zealand on the BD thread.....it takes money, determination, insanity, vision, and more money.... :? :? :? :? :D :D :D
