Sorry to hear that.

And as you said, no one fight alone. Support from family and friends is essential to keeping a positive attitude which helps with quality of life.

In again for $25.
Had a cancerous walnut sized lump removed from the side of my knee about 6 months ago.
Nothing new showing on a CTscan 3 months ago!
What is your team name Glenn?

Always grateful for the support from the Samba community.

Everyday there are more options.

Thanks.

Ouch, did this affect your knee usage at all?

Glenn Sun Feb 18, 2024 6:02 pm

A good friend discovered a 2.5cm mass at the base of his spine and he had problems walking which made him finally see a doctor.

He got it removed and is doing much better.

Got it Mike... thanks again.

Knee seems to work okay.
Orthopedic surgeon wanted to operate and clean out all suspicious muscle & do a skin graft.
Meant another 6 month recovery with no cancer showing, so I ultimately declined his fishing expedition!
He's an instructor at Oregon State University.
Always had students with him when I saw him and felt like he was just training/showing off for them.

Understand your feelings but please don't mess around with putting off treatment based on feelings. Get a second opinion if you can.

l found a lump the size of an egg yolk in my chest the other day, l have an appointment on the 22nd to see what it is.

it seems there used to be two things you could rely on, death and taxes, seems there's another now, the big C.

Glenn Tue Feb 20, 2024 2:25 pm

And a REALLY good doctor.

When I was diagnosed my family had me into MAss General's neuro-concology department faster then I could see someone locally. Within a week on was on the table getting a biopsy with an awesome surgeon (My tumor is DEEP within the brain so I wasn;t messing around)

As a funny side story...when I was interviewing my surgeon (yes, I research ALL my docs) I saw that he was a Duke grad and that UNC had just beaten them in basketball so the first words out of my mouth was "And no, I am not a UNC fan". The look on his face was priceless. He said "You looked me up?".

I said "You are about to go digging around my brain. You are damn right I looked you up.".

Patients MUST be their best advocates.

This is why I support Sloan-Kettering.

My friend, Sue, was diagnosed with a brain tumor and given 7 months. She went to Mass General, Duke, Sylvester and Cleveland Clinic. She decided with MSKCC and she lived for over 5 years.

Add Roswell park in Buffalo to the mass general and SK list of great places

Well... it's another year and there's still battles to fight.

I just got an email that today is Giving Tuesday and all donations made today will be matched dollar for dollar. So here's a chance to have your donation do twice as much good.

https://secure2.convio.net/mskcc/site/TR/CycleforS...fr_id=4153

And remember your donation is tax deductible.

Q-Dog Tue Dec 03, 2024 1:25 pm
