What? Wow, I can't believe that thing sold, it's been for sale for a while.
No, I didn't buy it, I thought it was overpriced based on the work it needed.
Maybe he was ready to deal and someone jumped in at the right moment.
There are others out there. :)
I decided to expand my search to other models as well. I recently passed on the chance to buy a '53 Deluxe. |

| To clarify, the '53 needed a lot of work and was rusty. But at least it was expensive. |

Binz would be nice... A 23 is always a possibility, although I would want a early one and Jen hates the Sealing Wax Red/Chestnut Brown colors. Gotta keep her happy...
I have recently been thinking about an early walk-through 15-window. 61-or earlier with the big seat. I like 15-windows better than 23-windows. |

'50 busses are my favorite too, I've got a '58 kombi (I bought from an add on this site actually) thats very original down to the pressed bumpers and crank start apron/rear trapdoor tin. Amazingly it's only got one thin layer of black (red on the roof) over the dove blue. The guy I bought it from wasn't sure about driving a blue bus...
I'd love to have a Barndoor but I think thats a ways off for me... |

The '55 Kombi went to a buyer overseas. It is now lowered, there was a photo in the Gallery a little while back.
I don't regret selling it, only that I haven't been able to find a suitable replacement yet.
It was rust free but it needed some money spent on it... |

:) Find me a bus that doesn't need money spent on it. It's either money spent to buy it or fix it.
