The other day I posted for a wiper motor and was helped and bought it Thanks.
Now looking for a lincence plate light or cover. Back in the day my old Manx had a stock VW but I dont know the year. It was not the old little one and not the big flat one I think it was a 64 seemed just the rite size for the body.
Is there a correct old school one? |

Guess I should add is my old Manx looked to be a dealer built car. All stock running gear 36hp stock seats with cut down tracks soft top lime green bolt on roll bar. Man I miss that car |

Anything built or made in the 60s or 70s would be period correct.
You could always use the search feature that is built into most internet sites, or even contact one of the VW graveyards to see what they have. |

If that's what you get, replace the three mounting studs with longer ones which will reach through the fiberglass. I also use the studs for mounting my license plate mount and to secure the wiring harness above the engine. |

Just find a good used pair of German Hella 62-67 tail lights. Have them chromed by a good plater. I'm sure there are several near you, on either side of the border.

Replace the studs on the tail lights with longer bolts. Here is a thread you need to read

Great advice.
Any ideas were to get 5 3/5 headlight buckets? |

I always use old 7" Dietz buckets
This might be the best price on used tail lights right now. The chrome rings aren't very good. I'd make him an offer if I needed them. I usually pick up a couple good/cheap sets when I see them at Bugorama

If you want to make the tail lights much more visible

I use Summit Racing Stainless Steel 6in off road lights housings.
6in lights are actually 5 3/4in in diameter. They are rubber mounted inside housing.
I became tired of replacing cheap chrome ones from rusting.
Some modifications need to be done. Cutting slots in rubber for pieces on back side of bulb that keep it from turning.
Drilling the bolts to run the wires through(if you already have lights you can use the bolts from them).

Here are a few more pictures. The one picture show the differences in housing that came with my Meyers Manx kit and the stainless steel with rubber mount for bulb.

Yes the one on the right uses a 5 3/4in light.
To get them I had to buy a Meyers Manx Kick Out kit from Bruce and Winnie Meyers.
They are the cheap Chinese made ones that will rust right before your eyes. |
