Everyone has an opinion, I appreciate that you are letting yours known here.

I have done business with him, but you already knew that. You stalk me like a bee to pollen.

When you come up with a better plan to help those affected by a anyone who screws the scene for thousands of dollars, I am all ears as is anyone else. We are doing our part to help, you should as well. Everyone one should.

You are doing your part to take advantage of other's situations. The only one being "helped" is yourself. It's not like you are selling them parts at cost. You are coming into other people's feedback threads to take advantage of other peoples demise. You never heard the term "ambulance chasing"?

You know ZERO, ZIP, ZILCH about the losses I am taking for these clients.

Get off your butt and do something for them rather that try to be the business police, which no one in this thread cares about.

Quote: Just reading your recent comments on TheSamba. I, for one, am appreciative of your offer to help us trapped in the Charles Adams thing. Those of us scratching our heads trying to figure out what to put under our cars while waiting indefinitely for parts we’ve paid for from a deadbeat supplier. Per your request, I will dig out my Atomwerks invoice and get back to you for a quote on your stuff to put the front of my ’66 Ghia back on the ground.

Quote: Im another one of those people who have been treated to very poor customer service at Atomwerks. Back in August I ordered over $8800 in suspension, disc brakes, steering box, swaybars, etc from Charles. He had made a commitment to deliver rear spring plates in October and they didn't arrive until mid January after I threatened to cncel my entire order. He had committed to January delivery of the remainder of my order and it is now Febuary and I have nothing. He is not committing delivery now citing that I signed a contract so I just canceled my order and stnd to lose thousands based on his 35% cancelation fee. I don't think he will return thousands I have paid him in good faith. I saw your generous offer on potential discounts for those of us who have suffered from working with Charles. He is a unique character. So here is what Im building. I have a 1973 manx buggy copy that I have built into a racing car that can be used for hillclimbs and autocross on asphalt. Car is lowered and on 10 in rear wheels and 8 inch fronts with Avon race slicks. I need front beam and swaybar that offers me as much camber and tow adjustment as possible for racing. I also was wanting to upgrade my stock steering box to something a little nicer. Im wanting disc brakes as well that allow me to brake bias . I haven't had a chance to look at your site but will look and try to figure out what I want to order. I will have to see if Im getting my money back from Charles as he isn't responding to me now and I suspect he doesn't have ability to refund my money based on all bad press he has had.

Quick 1 minute email search and I any whom I have worked with are appreciative of me helping. Happy to help any way I can.

Dude, you are rocking it out. I have been following this and it's sad how many people have been screwed. Kudos to you for helping. I have done similar things in the past for people who have paid thousands of dollars and gotten nothing from other companies and/or individuals. Keep up the good work.

This is still someone's feedback thread. You want to help people here? Place an ad stating what you.are doing. It is still bad taste to.come into a.feedback thread for someone else to sell your goods, no matter what your intentions are. Being a lawyer at a hospital ER waiting for an ambulance to bring you customers is the.same thing.

Guess I can step in and help at least one person out.

I have a set of 2" dropped bearing supported swingaxle plates avail.

one of my customers bought them and waited so long for delivery the they sold the car they were working on...

my customer no longer had a use for them so I bought them knowing I would either use them at my shop on something or sell them at a deep discount from what they list for.(789?? list, I can sell for $425 delivered US. ready to ship)

funny thing is "charles" wouldn't sell to me 'cause I'm "not his kind of buyer", but I ended up having a set walk into my shop anyways.

So if anyone would like the set to get their project done, they are up for grabs.

I find it comical that Pete is on here acting as a hero. Honestly, after doing business with Charles, it was like deja vu dealing with Pete. Thought maybe they were the same person. I have had very poor experience with both of these narcasistic ego maniacs.. Me Me Me I I I Im so great Im the best.. I wonder if their dad is Donald Trump.... very similiar personalities.. I will say the quality of both the turds products are very impressive. Not sure if its worth the money, time, excused and douchbaggery....

I emailed Charles, asked him if he had any poor man adjustable plates "on the shelf". He advised me that he would within 3 days and he would ship them out. I told him that sounds great and told him I have a deadline that I need them by. He said no worries just pay me... Got him paid. I waited 5 days without hearing anything. I kindly asked him for an update on the plates since it was past the 3 days. He told me that they didn't get done but would be shipped out that week. that week came and went... I waited 5 more days and again kindly asked for an update. At no point was I rude, nor did I even have a poor attitude towards him. Simply asked for an update. A female emailed me back and said they will be shipped tomorrow and she would email me a tracking number. 5 more days went by and I simply asked "Did my plates ship?" He responded to me very aggressive and degrading. Talking about how he is the leading trend setter and inventor in the VW scene..sound like someone you all know??? He added that his time is too important to be wasting his time talking to me since he is the CEO of the company. He then stated that I am impatient and disrespectful. He followed that with an email with my tracking number and added that I am banned from doing business with his company and he had the nerve to tell me that all of my friends and everyone I know in the VW world are not welcome to do business with him. If any of you think I am only telling half of the story or making this up I am more than willing to give anyone the whole email chain that him and I have had.

I love VW's because the people are usually different than those in other scenes. Sadly, that is changing and egos and douchbags are ruining it. Its great to have a great product, even if over priced. If I'm not getting good customer service its not worth the money.

Both of these "gentlemen" have people that suck their balls on fb and even on here. But the people I know that have done business with both of them will never do business with them again. Mostly for poor service and missed dates and excuses... but the biggest reason.. their egos... Even shop owners have flushed me turds do to their egos. Humble yourself.... it will come around to you, you'll get yours......

As the dust settles, people find out who are assets to the community and who aren't. Each person's views can and are different in many ways.

People who are talented enough to build cars and/or products for their rides tend to either pay for tools to build it themselves or enlist the popular vendor in the community to assist due to time constraints.

People who are not as talented or don't posses the money or skills to do it themselves depend on the Atomwerks, Airkewld, Strictly Foreign, etc. Some times we, as consumers, get mesmerized by the shiny this or the big breasted model holding this or that, it is part of marketing. Feedback posts and reviews help weed out the good and the bad to make it an enjoyable experience.

This is not my feedback thread, so I won't go and defend myself about the comments above, which I will not sway, change their mind, or ever get through to them. I learn from each experience. some do not. Some have been in the industry for 10+ years, others, not so much.

I am not a hero. I am human. I am compassionate. I hate that bad things happen to good people. For some, our products do not meet their needs or requirements. For others, we are an asset.

skills@eurocarsplus Thu Apr 14, 2016 7:41 am

I find it funny how people get all "I have a deadline" and try to blame a vendor for their "missed deadline"

my reply here is to defend ALL shops/fabricators/parts houses etc....not just those involved here.

first, when doing a project, have your ducks in a row...seriously. if you can't manage your time/finances it's stupid to lay blame on a vendor.

I knew for a fact that one mfgr's panels were hard to get. it took me 1.5 years to get every panel I needed for a job. in the meantime, I collected all the other bits I needed for the project.

it wasn't a case of "I need to find the money" it is just the reality of dealing with old cars....stuff comes in and out of stock....deal with it

you need to formulate a plan and stick with it. every time you change something, it can throw 5 other things out of kilter. I see feedback for GOOD transmission guys that are like "well, I missed my deadline they said bla bla" well, that could be a guy ahead of you wanting a different r+p at the 11th hour...that throws everything off...

this isn't "reality" TV...it's real life guys. you can take all of your "deadlines" real or imagined and stuff them....if you had a blown (whatever) last season and didn't order parts then, and missed your show "deadline" because you ordered your stuff 2 weeks before you needed them, shame on you...

people are human and don't want to work 100/hrs a week. get over it. get in line and wait your turn.

a vendor offering false hope is just wrong, and shame on them. but if you go into it knowing that you could be a month out, get in line....if you get your stuff next day, yay for you, if not then there are no surprises....people get sick/hurt/take time off....equipment breaks buildings burn down...shit happens, it's how you handle it that makes the difference.

so if you knew you wanted to lower your car/buy an engine 6 months ago and didn't pull the trigger then, you need to expect to wait, period. if you expect it in a week, you clearly need a reality check....

I'm sure if Atomwerks stated from the start "yeah...I'm going to string you along for over a year at the least...and even then I can't promise anything" there would be a lot fewer posts in here from people that experienced that, because everyone would tell him to pound sand.

The vendor sets the expectation, and the buyer manages their timeline accordingly....I have yet to see someone in here that expected anything in an unrealistic timeline.

Today I received my adjustable racing spring plates with hub technology. No word on refund yet.

EverettB Mon Apr 18, 2016 11:54 am

Locked since this seems to have degraded into people insulting each other.
(Some posts were removed)

If you have an update on this seller/business PM me and I will unlock it so can post.

Clinton Sat Apr 30, 2016 9:17 am

I've had no response to email or messages on his voicemail since 12-3-15.

I filed with the ODRcomplaint.bbb.org on 3-18-16.

I received the adjustable plates with hub tech on 4-14-16.

Now I am contesting the difference of the refund that his email stated I would get versus his new price that he is selling the plates for.

Just posting my experience with Charles.
I ordered a custom rear swaybar from him in November of 2012, was told 3-6 weeks, it took 8 months to get it. I had other projects I had moved onto and didn't get back to the VW until March of 2015. We discover that the swaybar would not fit my '62 as he used a '68 for mock-up. Charles said it would be 11-12 weeks for a redesign and he needed most of it shipped back which I did. Today marks 63 weeks. I have not heard from him since March 2016 when he said another 8 weeks.

As everyone is aware, "no refunds on custom parts." I just want the product I paid for. I think waiting 8 months the first time and almost 16 months the second time is more than fair for Charles to address any, broken machines, vendor issues, shop relocation etc.

I know posting this has probably pissed Charles off and I will never see my swaybar now. It is a shame because the first one looked good, just didn't fit. I'll update this post if I ever see it.

Got an email from Charles yesterday. My swaybar has been put on hold until later this year.

I'll post an update if anything changes....

After 3 years, I filed with Better Business Bureau and his response was less than honest. So I filed in small claims court and now he has a lien on his business.

Hey Clinton. I have also been stumped by Charles for $706 for the alleged ACU which was never built. I canceled the order due to selling car, then he agreed via e-mail to refund. No response for two years. I contact the DOJ in Oregon also. If you need the info, let me know. Also, where did you file small claims so I can do the same. I live out of state from his business.
