I tossed and turned and riled in upset as I sought new mirrors for my 77. I bought a set of the black Brazilian mirrors and while the asthetic on the car is very much different than the stock chrome jobs,M these things rock. I've come to appreciate the look, as it is not bad - just different. But they play nicely off of the black window rubbers impact strips and tire cover on my Westy. As far as visibility, what an improvement. These things are big, stable and very easily adjusted. They don't dance around in the wind or when I shut my door and if I do decide to go back to my old mirrors it is a simple one bolt job.

I installed a set of these on my '73 and on a friend's '75.

He never said anything about the mirrors moving or whatever, and I have only noticed them needing adjusting on my bus after it is evident that someone bumped into it.

I didn't notice any issues when installing or anything like that.

And here we are 10 years later. We have the mirrors. The look is OK and I love the visibility. Especially with older eyes.
One of ours was flopping so I went searching. For all those who have newer models, there are no longer any screws on the bottom to adjust the tension and there’s no longer any nut between the mirror and the base. To tighten them, all you can do is crank the mirror assembly another 360°. And hope they don’t break.

Brand new set on ours they will not stay in place after adjusting, it has two points of adjustment and neither will stay tight and adjusted.

These were from Jbugs part 211857513F

Pricey, and I re-used some of the spring hardware to make these rotate and stay better (disappointing at the price), but I am happy with them now. They adjust, (mostly) stay put, and have survived a few pedestrian impacts (ped on Bus, not the other way around), and readjusted nicely.
I like convex on both sides. It isn't fisheye or distorted, but just enough to see a wider range.
I run them vertical. Helps while backing into a camping spot that might not be flat or level.

I've got the same ones, never had trouble with them not staying in place.

I'm still digging my WW mirrors. Look great, rubber has changed color a bit but still supple, but most importantly stay put on the doors. It'd be a shame if they were cheaping out on quality these days. I will add that my bus is garage kept, so the mirrors are not enduring the elements as they might otherwise.
