I was reading in another thread. The poster made reference to his voltage regulator popping. I also have a voltage regulator that ticks. It ticks a lot. I thought this was normal operation. Is this a sign of needing replacement?
It doesn't tick all of the time, but it does tick enough to draw attention. |

It can be. When it starts to sound like a rattle snake, then it's getting ready to die. |

I'm not there yet, but it is annoying. I keep looking at the pull-a-part for a geo with the alternator. Then I could just get rid of it for good. :)
Mine just ticks at about 1 tick per second. When I turn on the blinker it stops. I guess I will switch it out. I don't want to get stranded. A dead battery would screw me because mu car is automatic. |
