I'm looking forward to my 4th or 5th Solvang Vintage VW event, and will be driving something old in a caravan down from the Bay Area with a gang of other enthusiasts. I can't wait!

Really a fun show with great cars and a relaxed atmosphere in a beautiful setting. Early and later Bugs. Coachbuilt cars. Barndoors. Westfalia Campers, Singlecab and Doublecabs, Wolfsburg buses. They've all been at this show in the past..... Just have to be there to see what shows up this year.

Thanks to the generosity of collector Mark Merrill, I was honored to be given that beige Oval hardtop Beetle in the photo to drive to the event roundtrip from the SF Bay Area. What a blast! The "Sausage King" Oval has only 37,000 original miles and drove and handled like a dream! Thanks again Mark for the cool ride to Solvang! That car/petroleum museum was awesome by the way on Sunday morning! So was the vintage travel trailer show held all weekend in the campground! Amazing weekend!
