I'm doing my first headliner install on my 63 ragtop using a Sewfine kit. I've watched the videos and looked at Sewfine's install picture but the "U" shaped piece that goes around the ragtop opening is challenging me.
With the U shaped piece's lower edge plastic strip "caught" down below in the body, the upper edge's plastic strip just doesn't reach the grippers around the opening enough for me to get them into the grippers, much less bend the grippers up to secure the plastic. See pic below.
I understand this piece is supposed to be tight but if I pull it any tighter, the plastic strip and tweed will come apart. Advice?
