Corwyn, Looking at your avatar, 2WD is ok for this trip? We are a long way from there, but have wanted to venture to baja at some point and might feel more secure in a group for our first time. We need 10 days just to get there and back, but could probably do 5 - 7 in Baja for our first time. mark

2wd is fine, unless you intend on venturing waaay off road. Most of the terrain is hard pack.

I hope to join you on this trip. I recently purchased a 99 Winnebago Eurovan with plans to head south after the first of the year. I've traveled a fair amount in Mexico but it's been many years since I've taken a road trip down there. Buses by the Bridge sounds good, too.

You're more than welcome, Carlos.

As an S.O.B. (Some Other Brand), you will lend us all a different perspective and share new approaches to camping in Baja. I look forward to meeting you!

Thanks! So if it's a Eurovan but not a Westfalia, it's another brand? Still learning.

It's just not a vanagon. And he just wanted to say SOB.

Corwyn Wed Nov 05, 2014 11:17 pm

Nah, I thought he said Sprinter. :-)

What a relief! :D

Bah! Not in the cards for me again this year. But hopefully I will run into some of you at BBB. :D Please do stop by and introduce yourselves!

Two months... getting close!!

Corwyn Thu Dec 04, 2014 11:56 pm

It'll be good to have you along, G! I'm crossing at Tecate this time.

Corwyn, how's it going?

80% chance attending, business...

What walkie-talkie did you have last year?

Gracias!

Corwyn Fri Dec 05, 2014 5:00 pm

Pm sent.

We are doing a week in Ensenada for Christmas this year. This will be our first time driving into Mexico, assuming things go well we would be interested in venturing further down in to Baja with a group. This sounds like a great opportunity. Is a 2WD bay welcome to tag along? I carry recovery gear and ramps to get out of where the bus doesn't belong.

Corwyn Fri Dec 05, 2014 6:13 pm

I sure hope so - that is all that came last year! ;-)

For anyone going to BBB on their wy to Baja - I'll have his banner up somehow, so we can gather and plan:

I am going to BBB and wouldn't mind tagging along to Baja for a few days if I have the time available but BBB ends on Jan 18th. That would leave over 2 weeks until the Baja Rally starts?

Corwyn Thu Dec 11, 2014 9:43 am

Yep. I'm going to BBB, Phoenix, Tucson and Yuma (areas), then Potrero County Park (southern CA) on the 4th. Where are you coming from?

onslowb Thu Dec 11, 2014 9:25 pm

I'm in Los Angeles.

As was pointed out to me recently, there are TWO Walmarts in Ensenada. It was my intention to meet up at the one on the south end of town:
