While we're on the subject been spotting oil on my back deck

Noticed some oil pooling in the stud hole for the ac mounts?

And oil ? Dampness around the breather base tightened it up a bit

could my breather be spitting oil that migrated to the back air flow

Valve covers are dry small drip on the case seam but that has been there

Have a bit of idle problems at warm up also

The o-ring between the breather tower and the case can go bad. Pull the breather and see what the o-ring looks like. RTV silicone will make a good substitute for the o-ring.

Check your push-rod tubes. Mine were a big source of leakage, with one almost corroded through and the ends leaking on many. Replaced with collapsible ones and my rear hatch was significantly less oil-spotted. I suppose that if a leaky valve cover gasket can be a vacuum leak source, likely these are too.
