Yes, thumbnut, not numbnut....
Picked up this shifter extension for my wife so she wouldn't have to keep bending over to shift. (maybe "reaching" is a better term here) Went back and forth about whether to really use it or not but when I finally got around to throwing it on, I really didn't like the "after thought" look that it had. It also came with only 1 nut which is fine if everything lined up but frankly even though it was pretty functional and more comfortable to shift, it looked crappy imo.
Since I really preferred that it just appear as part of the shifter and less obvious I figured I'd share the route I came up with.
Purchased smaller thumbnuts off of Amazon as the only 10mm ones I could find had a large OD. Drilled/tapped, scuffed extension and painted all to match. I think it looks much better.

Much better than it was... looks like it could have been legit optional equipment now.
