I know what its called and i've found the process be which one does it, but what are the requirements to get, say a tube frame buggy, registered for the street in the state of California? If anyone has done this before and would like to help me out that would be great. The things i'm looking for are windshield, speedometer, light placement, etc. I have remember one buggy about 6-8 months ago in hot VW's that was street legal, "Tichy's Toy"

Dune-buggy.com has links on street legal requirements according to the state you live in.

Scroll through and you should be able to find the "Special construction vehicle" section.

Here you go buddy:

Next time try being more thorough ;)
It took me less than a minute to find this page.
Using your browsers "Find" (Ctrl+F) feature also helps.
