Maybe others saw this but a free wire marker is the sq plastic tabs that hold bread etc wrappers instead of the twisty wires. Write info of your choice on them as u go, a wipe off type so can reuse, slick idea.

You can also spend a few bucks and buy some real wire markers that electricians use in industrial settings. Brady makes them, and is a commonly used brand. I get them 'free' from my job, but I'm sure that the big home/hardware chains carry them. The good ones are some sort of fabric material that will hang on to the wire for many years. They come in handy for other uses too!

The Brady wire labels are great! I get them from work too where we use the ones that wrap around the wire multiple times and don't leave a tab. They are expensive though and the printers are outrageously priced (yeah, for work  ). You can also get some really nice label makers now that can do really neat things with labels. These aren't your fathers Dymo labelers!

P-Touch labels work great!

Print them out, wrap around the wire and press sticky back to sticky back..... They hold on tight for many many years.

I use P-Touch to id oil changes, brake mileage, filter changes, oil quantity/type, tire rotation, etc.
even common size tools needed for oil changes and such.

I affix one to the upper left inside of the windshield. I note the mileage that I should change the oil next........ Ooooops overdue! .......

simple 1,2,3,4 spark plug wire markers can be had for cheap from Amazon, just toss into your cart and add to something else until you get free shipping
