hi there
here are some pics of my 1956 VW Oval Beetle.
The car currently sits on a 56 pan which has been modified to ball joint front beam with discs, lowered with avis adjusters and IRS.
The interior has been retrimmed in Mercedes Benz leather and rolls on detailed Porsche 914 Rivieras, 4.5 inch front and 5.5 rear.
Ive added towel rail bumpers, an Australian mesh sunvisor and a wood slat roof rack.
The car is about to undergo a full rebuild and respray so will no longer look like this, I would like if u checked my website, it has more pics and photos from australian VW shows.

let me know wat u think
regards
sam

thanks for the comments
the semaphore replacements r made by Hella Germany.
They are commonly called elephant ears or micky mouse ears. i broke one once wen washing the car and realised they dont make them anymore. it took a long time to find replacements, and ive seen NOS pairs go for the same price as semaphores!
heres another pic of the car recently, the rebuild has begun...

Yeah, that is one thing I dont understand... 4 lug conversions. There is an oval locally for sale with 8 spokes, and a guy did a sweet job (been in VW Trends) and I believe it is a 57 also with 8 spokes. I just dont get it. |

yes the car is going back to 5 lug, i hav found a nice Oval pan which i will be using. ive got a set of OG Lemmerz Sprintstars ive been dying to fit.
this Oval actually uses the original 1956 pan but with ball joint front end with 4 stud discs and IRS welded in, a great piece of engineering but not wat im looking for.
made some updates to my site, check it out.

1st ghia, it was missing parts from the clamps that go to the guttering on the roof, without the donor rack i would not hav been able to fit it to my car properly. had u fitted it to a car before? if not u may not known about these pieces. or maybe u forgot to include them in the package? im not pissed off dude, the rack looks great...
