Hello, stock 74 super beetle fenders, I do not want the turn signals on top. I want a cleaner look. I was thinking of cutting holes in the fender just under the headlight. Anybody have some stuff that they have done and pictures of it? Thanks. Here is what I am working with.

| are you planning to run bumpers? in that case you may consider using a late super euro bumper with turn signals. |

So Cal has a H4 Style, Flat Lens, Turn Signal & Parking Light
CIP1 has something like it but higher priced. I've got some in my '69 bug, but I'm using the secondary light as the parking light. |

Do you have the SoCal or Cip1 ones? SoCal's have plastic lenses, CIP1's are glass. I had the SoCal ones on my ride for a couple of weeks, did not like the way they looked or reflected the light out. I have the CIP1s in the box, ready to install. |

| I've got the Cip1 ones in mine. That would explain why they are cheaper. They seem to throw a pretty good light. |

They should...but if they don't, it shouldn't be too hard to modify them. I think the biggest issue would be the black piece where the wires exit from. This part may or may not interfere with the adjustment spring/spring holder. |

I am running some similar to this from MidAmericaMotorworks. Glass inclosure, it works great. Came with amber bulb for turn signal/ fog light. |

Do these housings fit the stock bucket? Or do you not need a headlight bucket with these? Also do you have any pics of the turn signals/parking lights on? Id like to see how bright they are and if they would accept LEDs |

They completely replace the factory bucket assembly. I'm selling my pair if you're interested. (Sorry for the unabashed plug. :) )

| Do the turn signal and parking lights on those headlight housing have bulb sockets? There are no bulbs included with them and no part numbers to purchase with them so I dont know where to get the bulbs from? |

| The recommended bulbs are in the instruction sheet that shipped w/the headlights. The instructions are in Spanish but you can still make out the recommended bulb types if Spanish isn't in your toolbox. |

The parker bulb is just a BA9S and the "foglight" is a H3 if they havent changed the design lately.
You just remove the stock sealed beam mounting buckets and those bolt in to the 3 tabs in the fender, they are a copy of stock Euro/Aussie Beetle H4 semi sealed headlights just with the extra bulbs added.
A Friend of mine put them in his and they were absolutely lousy headlights, filled up with water when it rained or got washed and had a pretty poor beam pattern. |

| Ok got the headlights, and the bulbs are on the instruction sheet but it looks like it needs a bulb socket/holder. Does anyone have any info on these headlights? |

Alex - I think hella bulbs part no. 4W BA9S T2.75 would work if you can find a socket to fit them. I know CIP1 sells those bulbs. Perhaps their pre-sales tech guys can help ID the socket you need.
Thanks,
Victor |
