I have loving relatives from different parts in the Philippines and so they speak different dialects. They know that I love vintage VWs and my relatives have a unique and loving way of saying the word "Kombi":
Koom-bii
Came-Vii
Came-bee
Kom-Beh
coombiiban (Kombi Van)
I showed one picture of my Kombi to my cute niece and told her that I love driving my Kombi. The picture showed the front part of my Kombi. After looking at the picture, she asked me, "Uncle, why do you drive a funny looking mini-train in America called kooby?" |
