I have an '82 Diesel Rabbit pickup. If I park on a hill, where the nose is higher than the back, the pump loses prime overnight - it drains back into the tank. The only thing I can figure is there is a leak somewhere that lets in air to siphon the fuel backwards. I changed all the hoses and the copper gaskets on the banjo fittings and there is no visible fuel leaking when running. What else could it be?

Fuel filter? Did you change the small return line between the injectors too? |

Yes, I changed the small lines too. The filter is almost new. Upon further investigation, I think I found the leak. It's the banjo fitting on top of the injection pump. I replaced the copper seals top and bottom and it still leaks. Do the fittings go bad, and more importantly, can you get a new fitting from Bosch. Or, can I us a different type of seal or apply a sealant to it?
