| I've heard about beetle transmissions with low gears and want to buy one. I found one for $450. Is this a good price? Is there a place that sells these? |

| transform sells good baja transmissions. usually they install a different ring gear to make 1st gear a lower ratio . tire height is the key to proper gearing. they advertise in hot vws, call 'em and tell them what your tire height is, what kind of terrain u drive one, etc. and they can hook u up .pay the extra $$ and get a super differential also. hope this helps. |

| You can get a Type 1 trans with a 4.86 R&P to correct for tall tires. Call Weddle, they're right there in Goleta. They are one of the largest trans suppliers in the US. |
