will a 61 ghia beam fit under a 72 ghia |

would a 5" narrowed beam fit under a 72 ghia and what size tires should i run up front if it did, if 5" is to big what is the most i can narrow one and still drive it daily, new to vw thanks for all your help |

Front beam configuration changed in 1966 when the Karmann Ghia front suspension was changed to ball joints. King pin beams used prior to 1966 will not fit the frame head used for ball joint suspensions. |

You can take 1 inch of each side, (total 2 inches) w/o worry. Any more than that, and you have to start thinking about interference w/ inner panels for the shock towers.
I'd think a beam narrowed 5 inches would cause you all sorts of trublems. |
