Hey guys,
Just trying to figure out what this bracket is for in the cargo area/engine bay?
It's in the passenger side of a rhd

it's the aircleaner bracket. what year is your bus? some were on the left, later they moved to the right hand side. with that hardware it looks like it has been relocated.

Thanks mate! It's a 63 but it's a mix and match, got parts from both pre 62 and post 63

There is not usually anything visible on top as it's welded to the top of the engine compartment on original 1963 1500cc-equipped Buses.

My guess is either it broke off and this was the owner's repair or you do not have an original 1500cc Bus and someone added it so they could use the later / larger air cleaner.

It didn't have an engine when I got it and putting a 68 1600 into it, might remove bracket and fix it inside when needed
Worth welding in the same spot?

If it's in the correct spot and you do not want the bracket on top side then yes, I would consider welding it in place.

I have an original '63 1500cc 15-Window so if you want any measurements to double-check things, let me know.

I will actually get the measurements off you if possible! It may be a bit out where it's sitting and goes for paint next week so I'll weld it in before then! Thanks heaps mate! Appreciate it!

It's a little tough to measure but I got:
40mm from the left side cross-member on the roof to the left edge of the bracket
and
45mm from the top peak of cross member behind it (toward the decklid) to the bracket face.

Hopefully that makes sense.
