I found various NOS parts on evil-bay. Here is my solution, perfect fit onto early VW pan.

Everything fit very nicely, NSU contributed a great deal to modern automotive design. Brilliant engineering ( replace the clutch w/o pulling the transmission, yup!). I went VW power as I had no running drivetrain. Love to see the Yamaha set up

Doesn’t that Prinz look separated at birth from the BMW 2002? |

The blue one I showed the photo of I have two folks tell me from the front view they thought it was a Corvair. The quad headlamps have that Corvair look.
Insteresting, they have at least 3 variations of NSU Prinz headlights. pair of large rounds, quad small rounds, and square lamp type in pairs. |

that's because they're different models and the usa legal requirement. the prinz 1000 had oval headlamps, the TT models had quad round lamps and the 110, later called 1200c, the square lamps (round for usa market) and fake grille.
as for the bmw - yes there is a likeness there probably because a defined waistline and slim pillars were trending. the design is a descendant of the 700 and the 'new line' models. |
