Can anyone give some info on how to open a jammed ( unable to release) trunk lid on a 73 Beetle? Thanks,

The latch on the inside goes up to release. Sometimes you can slip a thin, flat, sturdy object under the deck lid (between deck lid and apron) until it touches the underside of the latch and give it a whack to pop that latch up higher than you can get it with the button. I used a nylon trim panel thingy so I didn't mar the paint too bad.
