The status of House of Ghia came up on a previous thread, but I didn't want to get too far off topic. Maybe someone has further info?
I tried calling them yesterday and their number is "temporarily disconnected." They've been unresponsive for months, though, and I've heard lots of complaints about service. Jim was great, Kari Williams was very helpful, but they've disappeared with no notice. There's a gift certificate on Ebay right now for HOG. Great deal if they're in business! Anybody know any more about this? I'd hate to see them go- good quality stuff and competitive pricing with KGP&R...

Don't know. As I mentioned on that other thread I tried for weeks to make a connection without success.

I saw the gift certificate too. I would be scared to buy it for any price at this point. I was wondering if the seller knew something he was hoping we didn't . . .

I wouldn't be surprised if they closed. Look at all of the other places that have struggled over the years. It probably became to much of a PITA.

IMHO, when Jim Patterson left HoG it was all downhill from there.
Unconfirmed story was that he got all involved with eBay auctions,
though I've completed a lot of transactions on that site and never even
once found him selling or buying. :-k

Ordered a few items from them over three months ago, no word, no product, just silence. I gave up on them.

You know . . . the website is still up, and there is a fantastic amount of good information over there. If something is happening I hope that information winds up on Jason's website, or here, or somewhere.

I would hate to see that information lost to the world.

I emailed the bidder of the gift cert, and gave him a link to this thread.

I restored my ghia and got very helpful info form HoG web site too.
One was about the headliner steel rods short and long where they go.
I even send a check of $5 for their catalog three months ago
check never been cashed or returned.
So far I download all the their web site on to my CD already.

Until yesterday, I was the high bidder on that gift certificate. I'm glad I got outbid, but I'm sorry if anybody gets burned on that transaction. The seller sounded like he was just trying to get rid of something he didn't have use for anymore...

Maybe someone can contact the e-bay seller and impress upon him not to sell it unless he can confirm it is still re-deemable.
Or contact e-bay representatives and give them the heads up and the link and maybe they will pressure him to kill the deal.

I am not a big e-bay user so I would not know if they would be willing to deal with it or not.

good Idea about saving the site info... think I'll do the same.
