Here's my '63

It's not exactly what you'd call stock though:

I’ve de-Herbied my white 63 since I posted here a few years ago. Current look:

Early '63, I drive it back and forth to work in the French Quarter. One of these days I'll get around to polishing out the paint. Getting new tires put on right now.

Did the math from the production numbers in Progressive Refinements, I put the build date at approximately September 7, 1962.

Old question, but Progressive Refinements says October 1, 1962 as the discontinuation date of the crest.

My 1962. Just getting started giving her TLC.

I bought this in VT in late June and my adult son and I drove it back 1,700 miles from Albany, NY to Arlington, TX over the 4th of July weekend. It has a 20yr old restoration and around 67k miles, but its a well maintained infrequent driver. Lots of plans to refresh this further and enjoy it for a while.

Here are my two 1962's.

Grey one (Beatrice) - is our weekender. Must change out those fat front indicators for the peanuts.

Green one (Beryl) - starts, 6v, I rescued her from a junking yard 2017 Must have been sitting there for years. I bought her home, cut and polished her, put air in her tyres and he came alive.

My September 1961 '62 model sunroof deluxe sedan...

Larmo63 Sun Aug 01, 2021 4:22 pm

Does it seem like there are more sunroof models in '62-'63?

Lots of them posted on this thread?

Currently transporting my 1962 from CA to WA.
Bought from my Dad who purchased it in 1991. I will be the 4th owner.

Originally sold in Germany and shipped to CA. The interior was redone in 2012, engine and paint are original.

She hasn't been driven (or washed/waxed) much in the last 10 years, but was a daily driver from 91-2001.

Can't wait to get her home and give her some love.

I'm the 4th owner of this '63. The OG owner purchased it from a dealership in Yakima, WA. The second owners purchased it from the same dealership in '68 and had it until a couple of years ago when they sold it to their friend, aka the guy I bought it from. He spent the last couple of years restoring it with plans to keep it but his wife's health needs cooler temps so they decided to sell. I drove roundtrip to the Western Slope of Colorado twice to get my paws on it.

My original 63 (august of 62)

I have one of each, a '62 sunroof and a '63 sedan. Obviously "stalled projects" for now (I've owned the '62 over 24 years). Pans are done, though! I should be done finishing out my shop in the next month or two, and the Bugs are at the top of my retirement project list.
