I pulled the engine from the '66 Ghia that I recently acquired and took a good look at the transmission.
I was surprised to find two fluid drain holes in the bottom, instead of the single drain that I'm used to on later models.
Why does this transmission have two?
When I put in new fluid, do I just do so through the single fill hole on the side? |

Thanks for this info. Do you happen to know why there are two drain holes? Are there two separate compartments inside the trans? |

The two chambers are connected, but not at the very bottom. In order to drain completely you have to pull both plugs. The later cases were modified to allow the oil to drain from the 4 gears chamber into the diff area so they could eliminate the second plug. |

Thanks to everyone for the info. That gives me what I need to move on. I'll drain and refill. |
