Since finishing the rebuild, I customized the paint and reinstalled the stock Westafalia equipment.
The following video shows modifications and putting it to use.

Update: So I spent 2018 restoring a 1967 Volvo and 2019 restoring a 71 Ghia autostick and haven't given the bus the love it deserves.
Since the initial restoration in 2015 and 2016 paint detailing shown above it has received several small things.
2017
New Battery,
New Axles/cv joints,
used turn signal to replace bad assembly
used speedometer/odo/fuel gauge/brake warn cluster to replace broken speedo
used working clock from a T3 or 4 custom fitted to the blank in the dash
new shocks
and of course maintenance including valve adjustment, new plugs, fuel filter, 1x year (1000 miles) oil changes,
I have nearly complete service records for this bus. (no records from original owner 1971-1974)
QUESTION
-This has aftermarket rims and tires. Is the overall stock height loaded 25.2"?
Is there a way to change speedo to reflect tire height? Odo isn't that important since it has been flipped twice, driven 15k miles with wrong size tires, and replaced with a different odo. |

Here is the gauge cluster with new clock. Light color is different unfortunately, but less noticeable difference in real life than this photo.
PS - I had NO dash lights before this. I discovered that eh dimmer wire in teh light switch was bad. I removed it and now dash lights work. I just can't dim them (as if that would be necessary)

It's been over a year since I last posted about this bus.
Other than maintenance, I haven't done much to the bus in the past year.
In 2020:
Annual Oil change, valve adjust.
Put a new brake light switch in it. Replaced a brake bulb.
I have driven it almost 6000 miles in less than 8 years.
Miles on Bus are approximate, but fairly accurate 298,500.
Odo has been flipped twice verified by service records. Odo became knowably inaccurate around 280,000 miles because of custom rims/tires. Odo stopped working around 294,000 and was replaced by me. I tracked mileage while out.
I put the new ODO in around 296,000.
I took it to the COVVC show in '13 pre-restoration. I took it after restoration 2015-'19. I received top 50 awards in 2016 and '18 and the DJ award in '15. Show canceled in 2020 :(
I took it to the Clintonville Cruise the 'Ville show 2015-2019, Loudonville car show 2019.
Because everything was canceled in 2020 I held a daily driver neighborhood Daily Driver car show. About 20 cars parked on the street and people talked to each other from 6 feet apart. I chose a early 2000s dirty Toyota as the show winner because of the notes that stuck all over the car describing how it got to the condition it was in. Note by gas filler door. "We don't know when this broke off. It was just gone one day". Note on hood in old pizza box "This is what a car look like after living on campus."
Here is a photo from a toy show I went to in 2018:
I made a thread for the Batmobile pictured
