what would it take for a buggy to be street legal? i don't have a ride yet, but i'd like to make one that i could also drive around town and maybe on the freeway. |

It is true that different states have different rules about what is legal or not, but the way I have seen it done is just tag it and insure it just as if it were a beetle. Don't tell them any different and you can usually get away with it. I see street rods run around without fenders and engines sticking out why not a VW. I think the main thing to have is a actual windsheld and good break lights and head lights signals are a plus but you can use hand signals. As always you don't want to make a reason for the Man to give you shit. |

I was told that if it is titled as a "roadster" that fenders would be optional.But probably depends on the state's law |
