My Beetle has been apart for a long long time. Now I am finally putting it back together. Found this part in a box of parts. Can anyone tell me what it is and where it goes?

It does not look familiar. But a guess would be for the attachment of the track of the roll up window. But again, I am guessing as I thought those were always incorporated into the door frame. |
