Hey guys,

Just wanted a bit of advice. I'm stripping down & ripping an early long block. the engine is seriously seized & is going to be tricky ...any advice on how to approach this. Do I use penetrating oil ..suggestions will be great :)

Cheers
Mark

If you have a barrel large enough to submerge the block, fill the barrel with enough diesel to cover the motor and let it soak in it a couple days. It will work wonders.

WD 40, penetrating oil, freezing temperature rust remover spray cans, a torch, heavy hammer and wooden blocks. just use them all! :D
all you really need is time ! be patient.

Sounds like the kitchen sink....Just another question

Can I split the block without taking the barrels off!

Nope,

You can leave the 3/4 side barrels on and split the case, but I don't see why you would want to.
