For the past few months there have been a lot of scam Porsche ads on the site.
I often seen them on craigslist and other sites as well when I am researching ads to see if they are scams.

Some of them get auto-deleted by the site as I have a lot of checks in place but often they run for a short period or even days before they are recognized by either myself or a visitor.

If you see a Porsche ad you know if a scam ad or if you contact a seller and recognize their reply as a scam response, please hit "Report" in the ad and report the ad with the "scam" reason.
Or email me directly at [email protected] and let me know.

Be wary of any ad where the price seems cheap, especially if the seller has an email from a free service like mail.com, outlook.com, hotmail.com gmail.com, yahoo.com, and so on.

In addition:
Recently the scammers are also collecting the emails of anyone who contacts them in order to send them fake emails that appear to be from TheSamba.com and steal your login information.

Please see this post on the site for more information:
Fake emails from TheSamba.com / Fake Samba login pages

Specifically
Fake PM (Private Message) notification sent to users

Thank you.

As an example, the following 2 ads from today were scams
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1834063
1973 Porsche 911T Coupe with just One Repaint

http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1834054
1984 Porsche 911 Carrera

Unfortunately it appears that both of these sellers are valid sellers but they unwittingly gave away their login information to the scammers from this fake email that was sent:

Here is an ad I am not sure about, opinions welcome.

Posted today from a new user:
1967 Porsche factory sunroof coupe, original engin Price: 22500
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1859390

Same car on eBay a few weeks ago:
1967 Porsche 912 Factory Sunroof, Factory Red Car, Matching Numbers Engine
Sold for $17,200
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291589257291

It could be a flipper that brought it to S. CA or ?

I was notified today that some more fake PM notifications were sent to users on the site.

Please see the links in the first post of this thread for information

This strikes me as a possible scam ad for some reason:
Porsche 2010 Gt3 Trade Or Sale Price: 99950
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1962565

If you think this price or the photos are stolen from somewhere else, please let me know or go report it on the site as a "scam ad"

Thank you.
