I may be way outside the box here but has anyone ever made or seen wooden dash panels similar to a Ghia. Maybe a thin laminate? Just seeing what others think.

A couple years ago when I was still shopping for a vehicle (Thing inclusive), there was an ad here with a Thing that had wood dash panels. They looked to be replacements for the stock metal versions in the same dimensions.

It got me thinking about a Woody Thing (double entendre not intended nor avoided) with wood doors, and maybe wood lids and a wood top -- which this Thing did not have. I never really pursued it or the idea. I don't know what wood was used for the dash panels. The ad is long gone, unfortunately.

Look on the people of Walmart site and you will probably find a picture of one.

You could buy preglued or pressure sensitive veneer to do the dash. Might reply look good.

I have seen them, and I also have seen PADDED STRIPS made out of wood. I l like to think out of the box too. Since our cars are outdoors an topless most of the time, I think iti would be a good idea to paint the dashboads panel like wood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIGjsQTY-m8
