Nice fit now 8)

Found me a long perfect straight aluminium bar
removed all the high spots, and applied my first peel off filler
i can guarantee you it is a big panel

You're doing a beautiful job with your bus. Just a suggestion but I'd return the Chinese carb and get one of Tim's restored German Solex carb. They are as good as new when he's done.

I'm trying to keep my VW's as German as I can for as long as I can!

man I could have used that about a week ago. I did mine with loose ball bearings and it was so annoying. Went through 8 to end up with 4 halfway decent ones.

Wish i had a sanding block that long when i did my long panel. Can't tell you how many hours i spent to get that panel flat.

Great job!

I can attest to the Chinese carbs being a pain. Bought a new Empi for a 1600 SP years back and couldn't get the engine to run smooth nor idle. Turned out the brand new carb was full of metal shavings from manufacturing. Just recently got a rebuilt Solex from Tim at Volksbitz. Beautiful restoration...better than new.

Some more boring body work on the other side 🙄

This is the way i would like to do my seats and door carts 😍
need to sort out the right fabrics and materials... and a professional who can do them properly...
