I am running a MegaSquirt for fuel and spark control on my otherwise stock motor. I wanted to take advantage of the capabilities of the MS to add a virtual dashboard so that I can monitor the fuel injection system in real time.
I made a foldable mount, using the void space under the OE radio bezel. This way I can fold up the screen and it disappears from view, also it does not spoil the OE look of the interior.
The screen is an Android tablet, communication is via Bluetooth.

Great work on the dash. Did you write the code for the android app? |

Nice work!!
Even folks that are into the vintage look can appreciate the modern capabilities of this readily available technology. It would be nothing to have a Megasquirt type3 that was virtually stealth and looked stock. So you really don't have to sacrifice the vintage look and feel to get 100% tuneable, modern, digital, technology under the deck lid of your type3.
It just makes sense. . . 8) |

I've had my eye on something similar. Supposedly, you can adapt it to any engine, even a stock 1600.

I think you pay $50 for the control box and the app is free. The box connects to sensors for AFR, boost, Oil press, and temp; then sends it to the app via bluetooth.
I downloaded the app awhile ago, just to see how it looks. I need to get the control unit and try it out.
No wires to run and I don't have to ruin my dash with a bunch of extra gauges. I'm thinking of making some kind of mount for my phone that would fit in the ashtray hole.
That flip down tablet is a nice touch. |

Very nice. I would love to do something like this to my car in the future. |

Thanks for the nice comments. I tried a lot of mounting locations before selecting this one, as I wanted to keep the OE look. Actually, all the dashboard components are held in place with industrial Velcro, not a single cut or drilled hole in the entire set-up.
The dashboard app is commercial, its Shadow Dash MS from EFI Analytics. I also use their Tuner Studio software to tune the MegaSquirt. What is also nice is that it runs on my smart phone as well. So I have a mobile tool when I am working in back on the engine. It allows me to change the instruments which are displayed, so I can switch to the gauges to monitor the wideband O2 sensor, such as the Lambda correction.

There is another free dashboard application called MS Droid, its located here: http://www.msdroid.com/ |

Has anyone written to the Chariot Gauge guy to see if there's an ETA on restock? |

Oh, my, that tablet and mounting setup is killer!
MS for spark and fuel is just SO tasty..
That Chariot Gauge thing is pretty primitive by comparison.
It would, however, be a nice setup for an otherwise stock car without drilling holes.
Notice you still have to buy an LC-1 or 2... |
